David Suter - Research ProjectImage TrackingMotion is a primary visual cue for humans. Motion alerts our attention mechanisms (towards potentially interesting or dangerous moving objects). In order to scrutinize a moving object or to better understand what it is and what it is doing, we need to follow the object as it moved through the image sequence - this is called visual tracking. We (mainly with Raj Tissainayagam) have developed tracking algorithms that can adapt to different types of motion.
The following is an example of a contour tracker - tracking a human:
Applications include: robotics, surveillance, human computer interfaces, multimedia, medical imaging etc. See also Hanzis' Homepage |
